My breakfast selection at Makan Kitchen

Breakfast at Makan Kitchen at DoubleTree Kuala Lumpur was a true highlight of my stay. The spacious breakfast area offers an impressive buffet selection, with a mix of Western, Malay, Chinese, and Indian dishes that cater to every craving. I especially loved the Chinese dim sums and steamed buns, and of course, the classic Nasi Lemak and freshly made-to-order Roti Canai cooked right in front of me. It was the perfect combination of comfort food and new flavors to try.

Even when the place gets busy on weekends or public holidays, with lines sometimes stretching out the door, I was really impressed by how efficient and friendly the staff were. They made sure to clear tables quickly and showed us to our seats with a smile, making the experience feel relaxed and stress-free despite the rush. I also enjoyed the DIY Salad bar, where I could snip fresh leaves and mix my own sauces, and the freshly made local teh tarik was a perfect local touch to wrap up the meal. With such a variety of food and fantastic service, Makan Kitchen definitely made my mornings in Kuala Lumpur memorable.

Makan Kitchen is open daily from 6:30am to 10:30am, and it’s a wonderful place to start the day with a wide variety of tasty choices.

FINAL THOUGHTS

My final thoughts on my stay at DoubleTree Kuala Lumpur are all positive. The check-in process was quick and seamless, and the staff were incredibly friendly, making me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. I especially loved the warm cookie they give you upon arrival—it’s such a nice personal touch that instantly made me feel welcome. The breakfast staff were absolutely phenomenal, always greeting me with a smile and providing excellent customer service, even during busy hours. The hotel had everything I needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and I really appreciated the great amenities and prime location in the heart of the city.

Customer Service: 9/10

My final thoughts on the King Deluxe Room at DoubleTree Kuala Lumpur are a bit mixed, as I had three separate stays with the hotel. While two of the stays were fantastic, I did have one unfortunate experience on the 17th floor. One of the rooms had a leak, and when I was moved to another room, the cold water didn’t work properly. The room itself felt a bit dated and could definitely use some renovation. However, after discussing the issues with management, they were quick to resolve the situation and upgraded me to a suite for my next stay, which was really thoughtful and much appreciated. Despite the hiccups, the way they handled the situation left a positive impression.

The breakfast spread is phenomenal, with a huge variety of food ranging from local delicacies to Western favorites. The staff are incredibly friendly and always greet you with a smile, making the experience even better. The fresh Roti Canai and Teh Tarik were highlights, and I couldn’t get enough of them. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to try the fresh kombucha on tap, which is a refreshing treat. Overall, it’s a delicious and satisfying breakfast experience that sets a great tone for the day.
