The best way to reach the hotel is via Taxi or E-hailing services.
Hotel Address: GS Rd, Madhab Nagar, Khanapara, Guwahati, Bagrora, Assam 781022, India
Directions from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) to the hotel by car
Getting to Greenwood Resort from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) is fairly straightforward by road and usually takes around 50 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic.
Guwahati can get quite busy, especially during peak times, so it is worth allowing a bit of extra time for the journey. The easiest option is pre-booking a driver, using a taxi or ride-share service, as there are no public transport options that go directly to the resort. Organising a driver in advance can make the trip much more relaxed and hassle-free.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
Resort overview
Reception entrance
Reception area
Arriving at Greenwood Resort feels like stepping into a jungle oasis. The drive in is surrounded by tall trees, dense greenery, and wide open space, which instantly creates a calm and relaxed atmosphere.
The reception area sits quietly within the landscape, surrounded by nature in every direction, and the entire property feels open and spacious rather than built up. It is the kind of first impression that makes you slow down, take a breath, and start unwinding straight away.

Walking into the Premier Room, the first thing you notice is how spacious it feels! There is plenty of room to move around comfortably, which makes a big difference, especially if you are staying a few nights or travelling with luggage. The king bed is a great size and very comfortable, and the overall layout feels open and relaxed.
The views from the room are also a highlight, looking out to tall trees and a fountain, which really adds to the resort’s peaceful, nature filled atmosphere.
That said, the bathroom does feel a little dated, and there were some stains on the mirror when we arrived, which took away slightly from the initial impression. Even so, the room itself is still a comfortable and well-sized option for a quiet and restful stay.

BREAKFAST EXPERIENCES AT AROMA

Large restaurant area
Toast and Pastry station

India Cuisine station
Breakfast at Aroma Restaurant makes a solid first impression, starting with the scale of the building itself. It is a two-story venue with function spaces and a ballroom upstairs, while the restaurant operates on the ground level. Inside, the dining area is large and open, with plenty of tables and space to comfortably seat multiple groups at once, so it never feels crowded.
The breakfast spread is fairly simple and can feel limited if you are expecting a big international buffet, with the usual options like eggs, bread, dairy items, and a small selection of pastries and desserts.
Where Aroma stands out is in the range of Indian breakfast dishes, with plenty of local options to choose from. Overall, it is a relaxed and spacious place to start the day, especially if you enjoy trying regional flavours.
OUTDOOR POOL AREA

Gym Area
Massive and well equipped gym
Cardio and weights equipments
The gym at Greenwood Resort was a real highlight and genuinely exceeded expectations. It is fitted with a wide range of well-maintained equipment, including plenty of free weights, strength machines, and several cardio options.
The space is large, well laid out, and feels very similar to a regular commercial gym, rather than a small hotel fitness room. If you like keeping up your training while travelling, you will be very happy with this setup.
The swimming pool is just as impressive. It is large, clean, and clearly maintained regularly by staff, with plenty of comfortable lounge beds around the pool area.
One thing to note is that you need to remove your slippers and shoes before entering the pool area, which felt a little unusual. The pool is also not heated, so it can feel quite cold in the mornings and evenings. Even so, it is a great spot to relax during the day, especially when the weather is warm.
BAGAN CAFE & BAKERY

Bagan Café is located right next to the pool, which makes it a convenient spot for lunch or a relaxed bite during the day. The menu features a good mix of comfort food, including burgers, nachos, Korean fried chicken with rice, fried noodles, and other casual favourites. Drinks are a standout here, with a wide selection of iced teas, juices, and smoothies. I highly recommend trying their iced teas, especially since Assam is well known for its tea production.
Bagan Bakery is situated near the reception area, so it is a bit of a walk from the rooms, but it is worth it. The bakery opens in the late afternoon through to the evening and offers a nice range of cakes, ice cream, and coffee. It is a great place to stop for something sweet or a coffee, and the service was friendly and attentive during our visit.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Looking back on my stay at Greenwood Resort, Guwahati, I would describe it as a peaceful, nature-focused stay with comfortable facilities and a relaxed resort atmosphere. From the moment you enter the property, you are surrounded by greenery, open spaces, and a calm environment that feels far removed from the busy city. The resort grounds are spacious, well-kept, and give off a jungle retreat vibe, which sets a nice tone for the stay. It is a good option for travellers looking to slow down and enjoy a quieter side of Guwahati.
Customer Service: 5/10
Customer service was mixed during our stay. Check-in at reception took quite a while, and on a few occasions, when we called with questions, the calls were ended abruptly, likely due to language barriers.
That said, the service at Aroma Restaurant, Bagan Café, and Bagan Bakery was a completely different experience. The restaurant staff were friendly, patient, and genuinely welcoming, which made dining much more enjoyable. The inconsistency between departments was noticeable, but the food and beverage team really stood out in a positive way.
Rooms: 7/10
The room was spacious for a three-star resort, clean, and equipped with the basic amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable, and the layout allowed plenty of space to move around.
However, there were a few issues. The TV did not work in our room, and there were stains on the mirror in the bathroom. Noise can also be a factor, with thin walls, nearby guests, outdoor fireworks, and dogs barking in the early morning and at night. Despite these points, the room was still a decent base for a relaxing stay.
Food: 7/10
Food across the resort was generally good, with a wide mix of both Indian and Western dishes available. Dinner at Aroma Restaurant was very enjoyable, while breakfast was a little limited compared to larger hotel buffets.
Bagan Café and Bagan Bakery were highlights, offering tasty meals, desserts, and drinks in a relaxed setting. Overall, the dining options are solid and should suit most travellers.
Overall, Greenwood Resort is a good choice if you are after a nature-surrounded stay with spacious grounds, a strong gym and pool offering, and several on-site dining options. While there are some areas that could be improved, particularly around reception service and room maintenance, the peaceful setting and food outlets make it a worthwhile option in Guwahati.
